The Spokesperson of Compromís por Orihuela, Cayetano Portugués has today announced that “we are going to request Concejalía de Cultura the preparation at last of a new library for Orihuela Costa”. Portugués has made these statements, coinciding with the International Library Day.

The urbanisations of Orihuela Costa, with more than 30.000 inhabitants, have a Reading Point since 2011. According to Cayetano Portugués, “Although the Reading Point fulfills a key role, it has been proved that it is insufficient, taking into account that Orihuela Costa hosts more than one third of the population in Orihuela”.

From this point, the head of the coalition has declared that he is going to encourage the Councillor for the Culture, Cuartero, to “retake the project that the previous Corporation left open in order that the population of Orihuela Costa can enjoy this service as soon as possible”.
